High Intensity Training – Dumbbell Side Lateral Raise – If you want boulder sized shoulders with a large, rounded cap, then the only way is to up the intensity. The drop-set is a great way to build huge delts, but the key is to go heavy and to fight the contraction on the way down. After 1-2 warm up sets; go heavy at a weight you can’t do more than 5-6 reps and perform 5 reps. Going down the rack to the next dumbbell set; perform another 5 reps. Repeat till you reach 4 sets of 5 reps. This method is best with a training partner, both for safety and to assist with pushing out those last few reps.
