Musclewerks are a promising new American company that has produced a variety of popular supplements including Lean Simplex and D-Fine8. The latter supplement, one of the most popular fat burners around has recently just been reformulated and re-released as D-Fine8 ZERO. Let’s take a look at major differences and what sets it apart from other similar supplements.
Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO Highlights
- Powerful range of fat loss ingredients to support fat metabolism, appetite suppression and overall fat and weight loss
- 0g of carbohydrates, 0g of sugar and only 0.5g of fat
- Versatile supplement - Use as a fat burner throughout the day or a pre-workout just before training
Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO Ingredients & Dosage
Musclewerks D-Fine8 original was an extremely popular fat loss product, but their most recent reincarnation has made a couple of changes, most notably the complete removal of carbohydrates and most fats. The new formula currently contains:
- Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)
- Safflower Oil
- Cactus Leaf Extract
- Dandelion Root Extract
- Green Tea Extract
- Citrus Aurantium Extract
- Guarana Seed Extract
The other ingredients in D-Fine8 ZERO are simply flavouring agents, sweeteners and ingredients to assist with mixability and shelf life. Each 5g serving of the product provides roughly 5 calories with 0g of carbohydrates, only 0.5g of fats and still plenty of soluble fibre in the form of polydextrose.
Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO Pros & Effectiveness
Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO has really not changed by that much from the original version. The fat burner still contains a wide variety of well known fat loss ingredients including caffeine, cactus leaf extract, green tea extract, guarana and citrus aurantium; all of which have shown benefits for fat and weight loss, appetite suppression and improved body composition. In addition, dandelion root extract is best known for its diuretic ability. That is, it is often used to decrease water weight and bloating caused by water retention. The two fatty acids used; CLA and safflower oil have both been studied for its ability to affect fat and weight loss. Higher CLA intakes may affect fat metabolism, while safflower oil supplementation can increase adiponectin levels; a hormone responsible for stabilising blood sugars and for fat metabolism. D-Fine8 ZEROs main ingredient polydextrose is an indigestible fibre which can help slow down the digestion thereby supporting appetite suppression.
Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO Cons
The new D-Fine8 ZERO still contains glucuronolactone, which is more of an ingredient used to support workout performance rather than fat loss. As such, it seems like an odd addition and could be replaced with another ingredient with better fat burning potential. As the dose has been reduced from 15g to 5g, the doses of all the active ingredients have also decreased which can mean a few of the ingredients may not have therapeutic amounts with the recommended serving sizes such as cactus leaf extract for example. Whether or not the supplement contains enough of each active ingredient is also hard to figure out due to Musclewerks persistence with a proprietary formula.
Musclewerks D-Fin 8 ZERO Taste & Mixability
Musclewerk’s D-Fine8 ZERO is still available in a huge range of flavours and is by far still one of its best features. While the formulation has changed, the fat burner still mixes extremely well and tastes quite good so that even the fussiest of users will find a flavour they like. The only slightly negative is that the supplement does have a bit of a bitter aftertaste, but is hardly noticeable after a few uses of the supplement.
Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO Verdict
Fat burners are always going to be a popular category of supplements, which is why there’s always such strong competition in the market as the industry is literally swamped with new fat burners coming out all the time. Musclewerks D-Fine8 ZERO continues the legacy of the original D-Fine8, but this time with no sugars, no carbohydrates and less fat, making it a quality fat burner without all the unnecessary extras. The dosing has decreased, which can affect the amount of each active ingredient, but you can easily fix this issue with an extra serving.
