D Aspartic Acid

D-Aspartic Acid (DAA) is a breakthrough ingredient now being used by supplement formulators in a range of natural testosterone support supplements. DAA is one of the forms of the common amino acid Aspartic Acid, which is in high concentration in the testes, the main organ of testosterone production in males. In a recent 20091 study, the purpose of DAA was explored in a study looking at the release and use of testosterone and luteinising hormone. The participants in the study, 23 men, were administered DAA for 12 days, and the other 20 took a placebo. DAA was shown to effectively improve levels of both LH and testosterone. In fact, there was a 33% increase in LH with similar increases in testosterone levels. Even more interesting was the fact that the longer you seemed to take the supplement, the better the results were and the higher the increase.

Testosterone is an extremely anabolic hormone and is one which can help support larger lean muscle mass gains, especially in conjunction with exercise. Intake of D-Aspartic Acid may be able to help support natural testosterone levels in the body to help improve your lean muscle mass gains. As it is an amino acid, consumption of DAA is safe and with little risk, however it is always important to consume a variety of amino acids and proteins to ensure you get adequate amounts, especially of the essential amino acids. DAA is well stacked with any other sporting and nutritional supplement and may be able to increase the testosterone supporting effect of other testosterone support supplements.

D Aspartic Acid Supplements are commonly presented & sold as Complementary Medicines, Registered Therapeutic Items or Goods and Formulated Supplementary Sports Foods in Australia. D Aspartic Acid is not a sole source of nutrition and should be used in conjunction with an appropriate physical training or exercise programme. Not suitable for children or pregnant women. Should only be used under medical or dietetic supervision. Always read the label prior to use.
