BPI Sports has consistently grown as a company in the last few years both as its own brand, but also producing parallel brands such as EXT Sports, Image Sports as well as Jay Cutler’s Elite Series of Supplements. Having spent considerable amount of attention on these parallel brands, BPI Sports have decided to reinvigorate their range with a slew of new products including BPI Pro HD – an excellent complementary supplement to the popular anti-estrogen and aromatase inhibitor supplement BPI A-HD.
BPI Sports Pro HD Highlights
- Innovative Thermogenic, Testosterone Support Supplement
- 2 Potent Fat Loss Ingredients
- 3 Muscle Building/Testosterone Support Ingredients
BPI Sports Pro HD Ingredients & Dosage
BPI Sports Pro HD was designed to work in concert with BPI’s aromatase inhibitor supplement A-HD. In addition to being a testosterone support supplement Pro HD also combines 2 fat burning ingredients to round out the other 3 muscle building ingredients. BPI Sports Pro HD ingredients include:
- Vitamin D3 – Provided as cholecalciferol form, there is about 9600IU worth of Vitamin D provided per capsule.
- Niacin (30mg)
- Zinc (75mg) – Available in 4 forms.
- Pro HD Proprietary Blend (350mg) – This complex contains Caffeine, Alangium (stem and bark), Chinese Fever Vine (leaf), Flax (seed) and Yohimbe (bark).
BPI Sports Pro HD currently comes in a packet of 28 capsules with a recommended serving size of 1 capsule per day. Pro HD will be reformulated to exclude yohimbe for international versions in favour of bitter orange extract (synephrine) and will most likely be in powder form.
BPI Sports Pro HD Pros & Effectiveness
BPI Sports Pro HD is an interesting and novel formulation that aims to support optimal testosterone levels and hopefully muscle building as well as fat burning at the same time; an ideal combination for any bodybuilder or trainer. The two fat burning ingredients are well known to assist with fat and weight loss. Even if yohimbine was replaced with bitter orange extract; the combination of the two stimulants; caffeine and synephrine will also be quite effective.
The other three botanical muscle and testosterone support ingredients have some research backing its effectiveness. Out of the three, Chinese Fever Vine seems to have the strongest effect, with one animal study showing a fairly significant testosterone increase as well as sexual activity and libido. The inclusion of Vitamin D is also a great idea as lower vitamin D levels have been correlated with decreased testosterone.
BPI Sports Pro HD Cons
While all the ingredients used in Pro HD are all backed by research, the proprietary blend might not contain enough of each ingredient, especially the testosterone support and muscle building ingredients. Increasing the dose would unfortunately not be a good idea due to the huge amounts of Vitamin D3 in the supplement, which at 9600IU is at a level which should be not consumed for a long period of time, even though sun exposure levels of Vitamin D have reached 10,000IU and more.
BPI Sports Pro HD Taste & Mixability
BPI Sports Pro HD is currently only available in capsule form, but will no doubt be reformulated in time to a powdered version to cater to the Australian and overseas markets. BPI Sports generally do quite well in terms of the taste and mixability of their products, so Pro HD should follow suit.
BPI Sports Pro HD Verdict
With Pro HD, BPI Sports have created a supplement that caters to a huge proportion of trainers wanting to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. Pro HD uses a range of excellent ingredients, all of which are backed by research and is an excellent complementary supplement to use with BPI’s anti-estrogensupplement A-HD. If the powdered version for Australia is made with some tweaks to formulation and dosing of ingredients, there’s no doubt that this will be a best seller for the well-liked company.
