Natural Health Supplements Maltodextrin is a natural complex carbohydrate derived from corn starch. Consisting of long chains of glucose polymers, Maltodextrin is digested over a period of time, slowly releasing glucose into the blood stream. As a result there is no steep rise or fall in blood sugar levels. Maltodextrin is not a simple sugar (dextrose, fructose, sucrose, table sugar, etc) so it does not behave like a simple sugar.

Carbohydrates are an often overlooked aspect of exercise nutrition, with many opting to focus on protein, protein, protein. If you value the importance of carbohydrates in your workout regime then I recommend this product as a rapidly absorbing post workout carbohydrate.

I intolerant of some artificial sweeteners, so have to be careful what I take. Fortunately, I came across the Natural Health Supplements Maltodextrin on the MrSupplement website. I use it as an energy drink for my sporting activities, such as tennis, and on a day when I forgot to bring it along, really noticed the difference it makes. Thanks MrSupplement for helping me out with my dietary issues and helping my performance.

Natural Health Supplements Maltodextrin is a good, cheap source of carbohydrates and calories. I prefer to purchase maltodextrin separately as it gives me the flexibility to control the level of calories and glycemic load in my shakes depending on the circumstances. Despite what 'Natural Health Supplements' claims I am under the impression that maltodextrin is in-fact a fast absorbing carbohydrate. When ingesting 30g+ of this maltodextrin I’m sure I can feel an insulin spike. As such I find this product perfect for loading up on post-workout, but only add a little to my other (homemade mass-gain) shakes throughout the day. For this reason I have found buying maltodextrin separately (as opposed to pre mixed in gainers or post workout shakes) offers much more versatility, a better overall product, and much better value for money. Recommended.
