Donkey Calf Raise
The Donkey Calf Raise hits the gastroc (the bigger muscle of the calf) without putting the pressure on the spine as it avoid having the pads up on the shoulders as with the standing calf raises. Have a slight bend in the knees and stretch all the way down, & all the way to the top. It's crucial to get the contraction at the top of the movement. Make sure that you don't lock out with the knees, or use a partial range of motion. Maintain control of the weight at all times with this exercise. If you can't achieve a full range of motion, consider reducing the weight as it's important to achieve a quality rep each time. Nick Jones - World Bodybuilding Champion & Brad Ryan - Bodybuilder
