Introduction

Elemental Nutrition's first-ever high stimulant pre-workout is no joke. The landscape of the pre-market has changed dramatically. The days of a few milligrams of pump-activating ingredients here and stimulant ingredients there are through. People are demanding to be able to “feel” their pre-workouts these days, and Elemental Nutrition has listened. This product is guaranteed to wake you up, put you in the zone, as well as work with your body to delay your body’s natural responses to throw in the towel early during your workout. After all, every rep counts, right? Now, let’s get into what’s actually in it, and what those ingredients do.

Demented Formula and Dosage

Stimulant Matrix (4250mg); Caffeine (400mg) Above I have referred to Demented as a “high stimulant” but let me be more specific. Demented has 400mg of caffeine, a pretty common ingredient in pre-workouts but for good reason. Caffeine causes higher levels of serotonin, our “feel-good” hormone. This allows for a positive in-the-zone sense during our workout. It increases focus as well as pain tolerance. These psychological factors come into play and are of great importance during the later parts of our sets or workouts where we rely on a determined mental state to push through. Put simply, it increases motivation.

Dynamine™ (150mg); Assuming we all have an idea of the effects of caffeine as it is so prevalent in our day-to-day lives, I will stop there and move on to a more complicated stimulant you may not be as aware of, Dynamine™. Dynamine™ is a pure alkaloid compound, similar in structure to caffeine. It is a faster-acting, yet slower-releasing stimulant. Caffeine seems to act like a roller coaster, the faster and higher you go up, the faster and harder you come down. (We have all had one too many Red Bulls or coffees and experienced this for ourselves.) Dynamine™ however, alongside caffeine, will stop you from experiencing that couch-inducing coma after your workout. It is a great addition to caffeine for focus and drive.

Carnosyn® Beta Alanine (3,200mg); We all know it best for that tingling sensation we get when we take a pre. That’s how we know we can feel it, right? But what else does it do? beta-alanine effectively prolongs lactic acid build-up, allowing for more reps per set, thus increasing the overall volume of your workout. Being able to push even that extra 2 reps, over a 20-set workout increases your overall volume by 40 reps. So it does more than just cause those tingles, but don’t worry, dosed at 3,200mg, you’ll be sure to feel those as well. Elemental Nutrition has spared no expense in utilizing the scientifically studied Carnosyn® Beta-Alanine to ensure you are getting the most effective version of this miracle amino acid. In total, Demented contains 4250mg of stimulation. This means, get in, go harder and go longer.

Massive 9,000mg Pump Matrix

L-Citrulline Malate (6,000mg); Now let's talk about what makes a good pre-workout outside of all of its “feel good” properties. Let’s start with L-citrulline malate. Two words, The Pump. L-citrulline malate converts to another amino acid called L-arginine, which produces higher nitric oxide levels in the body. This widens your blood vessels, allowing for blood to flow more freely. Resistance training, increases blood flow to the working muscle, increasing the feeling of “The Pump.” Apart from the confidence-boosting feeling, the blood delivers both nutrients and oxidation to the muscle, reducing fatigue throughout the workout. L-citrulline malate is most effectively dosed at 6,000mg.

Vaso6™ (300mg); Vaso6™ shares great similarities to the effects of L-citrulline malate however it requires a much smaller dose. Vaso6™ is an extract from green tea and grape seed making it, like L-citrulline, a very natural and clean ingredient for consumption. In addition, on top of its vasodilating properties, Vaso6™ has been clinically proven to improve both endurance and recovery. By widening the blood vessels and allowing for blood to flow more freely, Demented’s advanced Pump Matrix allows for not only a greater pump to the working muscles but can increase overall endurance in longer-lasting, lower-intensity aerobic exercise. These main ingredients along with potassium citrate and betaine (to list a few) all work together beautifully to create effective vasodilation ensuring you walk out of your workout every time feeling a pump that is guaranteed to last for hours and have you feeling like you’re about to pop!

Nootropic Matrix (386mg);

For simplicity’s sake, I’m going to explain this matrix as a whole, as opposed to breaking down each ingredient. Much like Demented’s Pump Matrix, each one of these ingredients works in unison together for ultimate effect, so let’s get into it. What is a nootropic? A nootropic is a supplement that affects the neurotransmitters in our brain. They help with mental clarity, focus and even short-term recollection. They have been rather prevalent in the gaming world for a while now, and have found their way into training-specific supplements for good reason. Long gone are the days when someone who takes their fitness and physique seriously is referred to as a “meathead.” Rather, the opposite is now true. It is now recognised that it takes a level of intelligence, discipline and dedication to achieve our self-set goals, along with the planning of both diet and exercise regimes. My point? Our brain is just as important a part of reaching the next level as our body is.

The specific Nootropic ingredients in Demented such as Huperzine A, CDP Choline and a range of B Vitamins (among others, all of which are complemented by the caffeine that is included in the above-mentioned Stimulant Matrix) give us laser focus on the task at hand. We all feel like world-beaters on the first rep of our first set, however as the workout goes by, whether it be a muscle-tearing heavy-lifting session or a sweat-soaked cardio workout, we all know how fatigue can make cowards of us all. At this point, it becomes no longer about our body’s ability, rather we rely on our mental strength to get us through. When our mind is in the right state, we can do anything. Nootropics along with stimulants put you in “The Zone” where you can stay focused on the one goal at hand, finish that workout and finish it strong. After all, isn’t that what we walked in there for?

Best Demented Flavours

Now we’ve covered the science of Demented’s main ingredients, the next question is obvious, how does it taste? At Mr Supplement HQ we reviewed each flavour, and although the Red Frog Flavour seemed to be an across-the-board favourite, the other flavours were not without their charm. Each flavour was easy to drink, and if you are someone looking into a highly dosed Pre such as Demented, it would be safe to assume this ain’t your first rodeo with a pre-workout. So you have already been around the block and found what flavours suit your taste buds the best. Whether it be Grape Bubblegum (who doesn’t love Grape Hubba Bubba?) Lemon splice, the refreshing Icy Blue Raz (best served cold) and last but not least Berrylicious (half berry, all delicious.)

Demented Results

Although new to the market, we have been able to do some in-house testing, as well as with a few customers. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, Demented has been touted as the “cleanest high stimulant pre-workout they have taken to date.” Other notable comments include “a pump that lasted for hours even after training” as well as “the strongest but longest lasting buzz I’ve ever experienced, I found myself talking and talking and not being able to shut up.” We are excited to hear further reviews from our customers, which can be posted on the Reviews section of each of our product pages.

Demented Side Effects

Like everything, naturally, there can be some side effects. However, being aware of them allows us to prepare for them, but don’t worry, we will also include precautions you may take to minimise or even negate such issues. First, and quite possibly the most important to watch out for is the stimulant side of town. As above mentioned, Demented is not for the faint of heart and in all seriousness does include a high dose of caffeine. For those not as experienced with caffeine as others, the possible side effects could be as follows.

  • Anxiety due to raised awareness
  • Jitters/shakes
  • A come-down from the high levels of energy. “The Crash.”
  • Tingling sensation in skin (completely natural, not an allergic reaction).

Now we are aware of possible side effects, let's move on to the brighter side. A guide on how to avoid them.

Safety and Precautions

Like everything we ingest, on the back of your container, you will find a recommended serving size, which is equal to one level scoop. When using a powerful pre-workout such as Demented, you must take this as much more as just “recommended.” Do NOT in any case exceed the recommended serving size of a full scoop. Furthermore, building and testing your tolerance is key. So first time using Demented, no matter how much of a seasoned trainer you are, it is recommended to test out this product against your body’s tolerance with a half scoop. You will also notice a world of difference in taking Demented on an empty stomach versus with even a small meal before drinking. I am confident to say if you strictly follow these guidelines you can dramatically reduce any chance of side effects from this high-performance product.

When To Take Demented

Ok, now we have got all that out of the way, you may be asking “When do I take Demented?” Demented, as we know is a pre-workout, so we can assume we take it before, but how long before? A general rule of thumb with a high-stim Pre is around 15 minutes before your workout, however, everyone is different. You will eventually find the sweet spot for the perfect time for you. We recommend downing it just before hopping into the car on your way to the gym. Bro Science proves that you can use the volume of your music to gauge how much the pre-workout has kicked in. But we will leave that for you to judge.

Conclusion

The makers of popular products such as the high protein shredder Shredding Matrix and the ever-popular and groundbreaking Massive Muscle Fuel have done it again. Elemental Nutrition decided to finally enter the high-stim pre-workout market, and they decided they were going to come in with a bang.

Just like their other products, they have taken a go-hard-or-go-home approach to the formulation of their pre-trainer, and it shows. This no-nonsense product is for no-nonsense trainers who are sick of reminiscing on the days when they could feel their pre-workouts. With this stimulant-stacked, super-dosed Demented, even the most naturally motivated trainers will find themselves putting in some extra work.
