Vital Protein
500g / 20 Serves Vanilla

Whilst the Proganics Organic Whey is the best protein powder I have ever used (and already reviewed), this vegan Vital Pea Powder comes in a close second. I have to be careful with these types of powders, as I have Ulcerative Colitis and eczema. Most brands I have tried will flare up my conditions due to the fillers often used. I am also allergic to red meat, soy and gluten, and I am lactose intolerant. On top of all that, I detest the natural sweetener stevia (which is often included in flavoured food supplements). However, this vanilla pea protein is good and does not flare me up at all. It tastes nice and blends well depending on the type of blender I use. It remains a little bit gritty when I use my Nutribullet blender, but still drinkable. The grittiness vanishes, if I use my more powerful Vitamax blender and that is a very smooth texture. Certainly not creamy like the whey, but still very enjoyable. I started using this brand at the suggestion of my naturopath, as she said it was one of the best and purest brands around, with minimal ingredients and no fillers. She was right. It mixes very well in a green smoothie consisting of coconut water, papaya, avocado and spinach. Goes very nicely in a coconut water and mango smoothie too. I am taking it to assist with weight loss and muscle recovery after swimming. Due to poor digestion, I struggle with certain foods, so this is why I need protein powder, as it is easy to digest. In addition, another bonus is the value for money at only $35.00 - good for me being budget conscious. I take the whey in the morning and substitute with this pea protein in the evening. Since starting on them, I have noticed some weight loss, betting muscle tone, better nails, hair and memory.

This product does not list any amino acids under Nutrition. Is this because pea protein has no amino acids ??? Regards, Anthony
As pea protein is considered an incomplete protein it does not contain the 9 essential amino acids.
Does the vital protein help burn fat without working out as much as a body builder would? and could you just use it as a replacement for like meals just to stay full to lose weight?
You can use it as a meal replacement to stay full. It is low in carbs which can be beneficial.
