Snickers Protein Bars Benefits & Pros

With most chocolate bars, there usually isn’t much protein because they are marketed as sweet treats. These bars usually contain approximately 4 grams of protein whilst snickers protein bar contains about 18 grams of protein per serving. Snickers protein bars uses a blend of different proteins that consist of hydrolysed collagen, milk protein isolate, milk protein and whey protein concentrate. Because of the high protein content to boost muscle recovery and its tasty nature, it has become a popular snack for gym go-ers, trainers and anyone that enjoys a chocolate treat.

One of the main highlights of these protein bars is that it is a great source of ample nutrients that can be added into your routine whether you prefer it to be a pre-workout snack or as a post-workout snack. This really makes it easier for busy trainers or for those with tight schedules who don’t get a chance to eat before their workout. Secondly, if you’re someone that has a sweet tooth or like to snack; snickers protein bars are excellent options for you to take between your meals. With under 5% fat content, you won’t have to worry about packing on heaps of calories if you’re watching your weight.

Snickers Protein Bars Cons

As discussed early, snickers protein bars comprise of various protein sources. This includes hydrolysed collagen. Mars could have used another source of protein to replace hydrolysed collagen because of its low protein and amino acid content. Despite this, the other protein sources used does make up for the protein content in the bars.  Whilst the overall bar is marketed as a gym snack, these bars do have a high amount of sugars which is still lacking compared to traditional protein bars.

Snickers Protein Bars Taste & Flavour

Protein bars often have a hard texture and often don’t taste the way we want it to. With snickers protein bars, Mars have nailed the taste and flavour resembling almost every aspect of an original snickers bar. The protein bars are slightly chewier compared to the regular snickers bars giving it more crunch. Mars have lowered the sugar level by replacing it with non-caloric sweetener maltitol. For a protein bar, Mars have really made this bar a tasty and healthy quick fix.

Snickers Protein Bars Verdict

Snickers Protein Bars are high protein low fat bars perfect if you are craving a sweet snack without making you feel guilty. Whilst this bar is promoted as a gym snack and may be a little better for you with respect to the nutrients, they do contain more sugar compared to the traditional protein bars in the supplement industry. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a new way to enjoy some extra protein in your diet why not give these bars a try?
