Marketed as an advanced BCAA endurance & recovery formula; RSP Regen is a well thought out supplement with a quality line up of ingredients that are widely applicable to both strength and endurance athletes. We’ll take a close look below at what’s good and bad about Regen.
RSP Regen Highlights
The major highlights of Regen include the nice extras that come with the BCAAs like glutamine, electrolytes, b-vitamins and citrulline. These days it’s common for companies to bring out a BCAA supplement that’s loaded up with other goodies, but there’s always the question of the quality of the extra inclusion, both in form of dosage and actual ingredient. With the added electrolytes such as calcium, magnesium and potassium, Regen has appeal to your everyday endurance athlete who is all the more savvy with supplement use, with many recognising the benefits that BCAAs can provide in terms of muscle recovery. All-in-all, RSP have a done well to bring a solid list of quality inclusions to a BCAA supplement.
RSP Regen Ingredients & Dosages
Unlike some of the supplements on the market, Regen has a degree of transparency regarding ingredient dosing. As is commonplace nowadays, Regen is made up of a number of proprietary ingredient complexes and RSP only go as far as to disclose total amounts of each complex. Users still have to play guessing game when it comes to actual levels of each ingredient. As alluded to above, the actual ingredients that make up Regen are of good quality, with a good blend of contemporary nutrients to complement the BCAAs. Small details such as added bioperine together with calcium and magnesium show that RSP have paid attention to the minor details as well as the big ones.
RSP Regen Pros & Effectiveness
So is a dose of 3.75g of BCAA enough to make an impact? Most would say no. An ideal dose would probably be double this. Certainly, in the experience of this writer, two standard doses were the norm, rather than the exception when using the product. But it’s hard to critique RSP for this, as users can simply double the dose given it comes in powder form. Flavour is another strong point of Regen, with the mild and fresh notes of each flavour likely to please the palate of the average individual. Another positive aspect about Regen is that it is free of stimulants, which broadens its market appeal over other intra workout supplements with stimulants. It also means users can aggressively dose with Regen without having to worry about getting an adverse stimulant load
RSP Regen Cons
An obvious con is the lack of full ingredient level disclosure, which can be a pet hat for many savvy supplement users. The other key criticism is that of dose. Many competitor BCAA supplements or intra workouts prescribe larger doses of BCAAs, which are more in line with the research on BCAAs. It could also be argued that Regen is not particularly cutting-edge because it only includes BCAAs in free-form as opposed to peptide form, which is the case for some competitor products.
