Fat burners are one of the most popular category of supplements currently available and every second customer seems to be after some product to help them drop fat, lose weight and get ripped. Two of the most popular fat burners currently out on the market today are EHPLabs Oxyshred and USPLabs OxyElite Pro Powder. They may have similar names, but which is the better fat burner?

OxyShred vs OxyElite Ingredients

EHPLabs OxyShred and USPLabs OxyElite are both powdered fat burners, but with a range of very different ingredients. Let’s take a closer look at the breakdown of ingredients between these two popular supplements.

As you can see from the above table, only two ingredients; caffeine and higenamine/norcoclaurine are common between OxyShred and OxyElite. While both supplements supply carnitine, Oxyshred utilises a much more bioavailable form of carnitine in the form of acetyl l-carnitine. However, L-Carnitine L-Tartrate has been specifically studied for its ergogenic and performance enhancing potential. It should be noted also that the aegeline contained in OxyElite is thought to be the culprit in a spate of acute hepatitis cases linked to the use of EHPLabs OxyElite; however is yet to be confirmed. Overall both supplements have decided to take a non-traditional approach to formulation using a range of more topical and unique ingredients.

OxyShred vs OxyElite Dosing

A recommended serving size of OxyShred is 5.1g while OxyElite Pro’s recommended serving size is half that at 2.4g. Both supplements have decided to take a proprietary formula approach which leaves the consumer only the slightest clues as to the amount of each ingredient the product contains. We know for sure OxyShred contains 1.7g of acetyl-l-carnitine and at least 150mg of caffeine per scoop whilst we know that OxyElite Pro contains 890mg of glucuronolactone and 135mg of caffeine. As caffeine is the only ingredient that both supplements share, we can be certain that OxyShred beats OxyElite Pro in this regards.

OxyShred vs OxyElite Effectiveness

EHPLabs OxyShred have chosen to utilise a formula based more on newer and more topical fat loss ingredients such as African Mango, Raspberry Ketones and grapefruit seed extract whilst also ensuring plenty of the more traditional weight loss support ingredients such as acetyl l-carnitine, chromium and CLAs. Essentially OxyShred has created a supplement that assists with fat burning and metabolism, support thermogenesis (body heat production), suppress appetite and improve insulin sensitivity – which helps to stabilise blood sugar levels. Fluctuating blood sugar levels are a primary cause of hunger. On top of that, OxyShred has been said to support enhanced moods and the majority of consumers comment that it provides a definite boost to their fat loss effort.

USPLab’s OxyElite Pro Powder formula is even more obscure than OxyShred, with USPLab’s utilising a range of ingredients that have very very little research on its ability to support weight and fat loss. Glucuronolactone and L-Carnitine L-Tartrate, the two main ingredients of OxyElite are considered more ergogenic aids (performance enhancing ingredients) than fat lost ingredients. The rest of the ingredients have a weak link to increased fat metabolism, diuresis (water loss) and appetite suppression. Overall though, the small serving size, coupled with the use of poorly researched and often random ingredients make OxyElite a formula that has strayed far from the effectiveness that was the original. In addition, Aegeline – one of the ingredients said to support fat metabolism is thought to be the primary culprit in a spate of acute hepatitis cases in the US.

With all those factors in mind, OxyShred is not only a far more effective formula, it is a safer one and that is why OxyShred wins in terms of effectiveness.

OxyShred vs OxyElite Taste, Flavour & Mixability

OxyShred is one of the tastiest powdered fat burners around with 4 delicious varieties including the crowd favourite Strawberry Margherita. OxyElite has two flavours including Grape Bubblegum and Raspberry Lemonade – both of which aren’t bad, but are strong and sweet, so need to be watered down. Both powders mix well with little residue and grittiness. Overall with a larger range of more balanced flavours, OxyShred again wins in this category.

  • Winner - Oxyshred

OxyShred vs OxyElite Price & Value

OxyShred is slightly more expensive than OxyElite at roughly $1.33 per serve vs $1.02. Having said that though, paying an extra 30 cents for a much more effective and safer supplement is worth it in this reviewer’s mind.

  • Winner - OxyElite

OxyShred vs OxyElite Winner

USPLabs OxyElite Pro used to be the fat loss supplement thanks to its prior excellent and effective formulation. However recent revisions of the product have rendered the productive ineffective and dangerous. EHPLabs OxyShred has built up a strong, almost cult like following with excellent word of mouth marketing but also with a product that works. OxyElite may have been the King of fat burners previously, but the game of thrones has been played and a new King has emerged – EHPLabs OxyShred

Overall Winner: EHPLabs Oxyshred
