As one of the oldest and most trusted Australian manufacturers of sports nutrition products, Max’s have built a reputation for quality and innovation. These virtues are no more evident than in their WPI HL product. The revised product from the original Max’s Bioengineered WPI is more advanced and provides an even stronger base for muscle recovery and muscle growth.

Max’s WPI HL Protein Powder

As a general rule, Max’s do a great job of providing well-researched and extensive information on the label of each of their products. Personally, this gives me the impression that Max’s work closely with their raw material suppliers and are very knowledgeable when it comes to sports nutrition and whey protein. I think that to an extent the more information you can give the consumer, the better. You don’t want to leave them guessing if you can avoid it. After all, the more transparent you are with your ingredients and your product, the more trustworthy you are.

Max’s WPI HL Ingredients & Dosage

Max’s WPI HL differentiates itself from the competition by featuring some of the highest quality whey protein isolate around. Most noteworthy is its high naturally occuring leucine content. As if it wasn't enough, Max's have added peptide bound leucine and free form and instantised BCAAs (including leucine) which sums up to a whopping 6.5 g per serve. This is around a 20% increase in peptide pound leucine compared to the old formula. For those in the know, leucine is the most anabolic of all amino acids, and to get such a huge amount is defnitely beneficial for when it comes to building lean muscle. Finally the protein is extracted using purification techniques that preserve all of the protein’s bioactivity.

Max's WPI HL Serving Size & Protein Content

Below are some quick facts about the protein content of Max’s WPI

Protein Percentage Content per Serve

90.1%

Leucine Percentage Content

21.6%

BCAA Percentage Content

39.9%

In terms of its protein content and amino acid profile, Max’s WPI HL features a huge 27.1 grams of protein per 30 gram serve. Max’s also give you a full profile of the amino acid content for each serving. Of particular note is leucine; coming in at 21.6g per 100g, 20% more than the original Bioengineered WPI thanks to the added peptide bound L-leucine. This makes Max’s WPI HL a great anabolic whey protein. As is common with all Max’s protein, WPI HL includes a full complement of vitamins and minerals, albeit very small amounts. However it’s better than nothing!

Max's WPI HL Taste & Mixability

As with most of Max’s products, WPI HL has received plenty of good reviews regarding its taste and mixability. So Max’s WPI HL is a pretty safe bet even if you tend to have a picky palate and insist that your protein shake be completely smooth once you’ve mixed it. The protein will be available in two delicious and easy to mix flavours; Chocolate and Vanilla.

Max's WPI HL Verdict

Max’s has been a staple in the supplement industry here in Australia and has competed well with the best of the international brands. The latest rebranding exercise and reformulation of many of their proteins has sustained Max’s position as one of the best Aussie supplement companies around. They’re not only adept at formulating delicious tasting and high quality products, they take into account the best research available and combine it with the most premium ingredients to ensure that you can achieve the best results each and every time. Max’s WPI HL utilises functional fractions of WPI with a good dose of added peptide bound leucine, free form BCAAs and instantised BCAAs to help you build some serious lean muscle and strength. Overall, this is one of the best and most well thought out WPI protein powders around.
