Lactose Free Protein Powder is a range of protein shakes & supplements that have either been processed to remove the milk sugar known as lactose or contain no lactose to begin with. While most of us do have the lactase enzyme to digest lactose, some people are or become deficient and as such have a hard time with a range of dairy foods including milk, yoghurt, whey protein and casein protein. Depending on your level of lactose intolerance, you may be able to tolerate some dairy items such as cheese and even up to a serve of dairy per day. If you experience symptoms such as bloating, gassiness, increased flatulence (farting), diarrhoea or other uncomfortable abdominal symptoms with the consumption of dairy based proteins such as whey or casein, you may have lactose intolerance. Luckily, these days, there are plenty of protein options for those with lactose intolerance. These come in two main categories being; Lactose Free Dairy Proteins & Dairy Free Proteins.
Lactose free dairy proteins are those which have been specially processed to remove all lactose and will often contain no sugars and often no carbohydrates as well. While there aren’t any lactose free certifications, you can be mostly sure that any product with 0g of sugar will be virtually if not completely lactose free.
Dairy free proteins on the other hand are protein powders that are made from a range of alternative sources including beef, egg, soy, pea and rice protein that won’t contain any lactose at all. Regardless of which of the two you choose, you’ll still be able to get plenty of bioavailable protein which will help you build lean muscle and recover from training. Lactose free protein powders are easily stackable with all other supplements including fat burners, pre workout supplements, intra workouts and hormone support supplements.

They are not a sole source of nutrition and should be used in conjunction with an appropriate physical training or exercise programme. Not suitable for children under 15 years or pregnant women.
