Jay Cutler has been a huge presence in the bodybuilding world ever since his professional win back in 1993. Since then he has achieved the title of Mr Olympia an incredible 4 times and have come first in over 15 professional competitions. Recently, Jay Cutler has teamed up with BPI Sports and has released a Jay Cutler Elite Series of supplements. One of these supplements is Amino Pump; an amino acid/intra-workout formula. Let’s take a look at what’s in Amino Pump and see how it compares with other similar supplements.

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump Highlights

  • 8.1g of 7 active ingredients including Creatine, L-Aspartic Acid, Beta-Alanine, Glycerol, L-Leucine, Taurine and Agmatine.
  • Stimulant and Sugar Free

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump Ingredients & Dosage

Jay Cutler’s Amino Pump is an 8.1g proprietary blend of 7 active ingredients including:

  • Creatine – From CreaPure, an ultra pure creatine monohydrate manufactured in Germany.
  • L-Aspartic Acid – An amino acid that assists in the production of ATP to assist with energy production.
  • Beta-Alanine – As CarnoSyn, an ingredient used to increase endurance and delay fatigue.
  • Glycerol – An ingredient to assist with hydration.
  • L-Leucine – A branched chain amino acid critical for supporting muscle protein synthesis.
  • Taurine – An amino acid that is commonly used to support energy levels.
  • Agmatine – An ingredient that can enhance blood flow and reduce pain.

Each tub of Amino Pump contains 30 serves.

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump Pros & Effectiveness

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump contains some great ingredients. Creatine and beta-alanine are some of the most well researched ingredients to assist with exercise performance, especially strength and endurance. Leucine is also a well researched ingredient to support muscle protein synthesis and slow down muscle catabolism during intense workouts. While the other ingredients aren’t as well researched, they certainly have physiological functions that are beneficial for exercise performance including energy support and hydration. Another positive about Amino Pump is its avoidance of stimulants, making a product you can increase in dose without suffering any severe side effects or negative energy crashes. The lack of stimulants also makes it an easy supplement to stack with almost any other type of supplement.

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump Cons

The primary downside to Amino Pump is the dosing of ingredients. At 8.1g per serve, for beta alanine and creatine to be effective, it would take up at least 6g of that 8.1g serve, leaving only 2g for the other 5 ingredients. If this wasn’t the case, then other ingredients would be underdosed. This can readily be fixed by increasing the dosage, which is easier since there are no stimulants, but this does increase the price of each serve slightly. Overall though, the ingredients are sturdy, but an extra half serve or full serve may be warranted, especially for those who are used to pre-workouts and their effects.

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump Taste & Mixability

Jay Cutler’s Amino Pump currently comes in two flavours; Fruit Punch and Blue Lemonade. BPI are well known for their great tasting products such as Blox and Amino Pump benefits from the same premium tasting technology and tastes just as good as some of BPIs other products. Amino Pump mixes extremely well with minimal frothing and no residue or clumps.

Jay Cutler Elite Series Amino Pump Verdict

The advent of supplements from well known bodybuilders is always an interesting and risky venture. After all, their reputations are on the line. Jay Cutler’s Amino Pump may not be the most innovative of supplements, but it’s got the right ingredients to help you work out more effectively and success is born out of doing things and taking things that work.
