The Arnold Classic and sports festival has become an institution in the US, where it has been held annually for almost twenty years. In recent years, the competition has expanded to include Europe and South America, and in 2015, Australia. The competition is run by IFBB, the International federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness.

The inaugural Arnold Classic Australia took place in Melbourne over the weekend of the 12th-15th of March, and within this event, a huge number of different bodybuilding and physique competitions took place for men and women.

One of the major distinctions in the bodybuilding and physique events held at the Arnold Classic is the designation between professional and amateur.

IFBB Pro League – Arnold Classic 2015 Australia

The professional competition is open only to holders of an IFBB Pro Card, which they would have obtained by placing first or second in an IFBB affiliated national contest. As a result, the professional competition attracted competitors from around the world, as a win in the Arnold Classic guarantees competitors a place in highly prestigious contests, including Mr Olympia. The professional contest was dominated by American competitors.
