Gen-Tec TR3 Pros & Effectiveness

Gen-Tec’s TR3 is an extremely comprehensive supplement to support exercise recovery. The supplement has plenty of protein to support muscle recovery and muscle protein synthesis as well as plenty of carbohydrates to support glycogen replenishment. The supplement also contains various ingredients to support your immune system (vitamin C, E and Glutamine) as well as optimising growth hormone levels thanks to added arginine and lysine.

Added creatine at 3g is more than enough to help support long term support for muscle creatine stores while the natural protease bromelain helps to assist protein digestion and therefore reducing gastrointestinal distress with higher protein diets. In addition, bromelain has received increasing interest in the sports science community thanks to its ability to reduce inflammation and the dreaded delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

Gen-Tec TR3 Cons

While the ZMA complex has long been heralded as an excellent mix of ingredients to support testosterone levels and strength; more current research has failed to show this to be the case. While all three ingredients are important individually, few people would be at risk of being deficient or low in these ingredients; especially if they’re diets are in check or if they’re consuming a multivitamin. However, zinc is a powerful immunity boosting ingredient and supplementing with extra zinc can further support exercise and muscle recovery. Overall though, there are very few negatives to Gen-Tec’s latest protein and is an excellent example of a well thought out supplement.

Gen-Tec TR3 Taste & Mixability

Gen-Tec TR3 is available in three flavours; Banana, Mixed Berry and Watermelon. Indeed some odd choices for protein flavours; the first two flavours aren’t too bad and are reminiscent of your regular banana and strawberry protein powders. The watermelon flavour is an interesting choice and may seem a bit weird or strange; but isn’t completely unpleasant. In fact, it provides an extremely refreshing post-workout and offers an excellent point of difference between TR3 and all the other old school, milky post-workout formulations. The powder mixes very well and provides a smooth, grit free shake without any unwanted and objectionable clumps, a bonus considering how much creatine the supplement has. The shake also has very little froth as Gen-Tec has invested some serious time in trying to reduce the amount, which as a result has dramatically improved the supplements taste profile and mouth feel.

Gen-Tec TR3 Verdict

Gen-Tec Nutrition has always been a company that has prided itself on releasing supplements that are backed not only by research, but also by results. Founded by Nick Jones – a world champion bodybuilder himself, Gen-Tec is one of the most underrated supplement companies in Australia. Their latest protein powder TR3 is a testament to their dedication to bringing out well thought out supplements with the majority of ingredients assisting and supporting exercise recovery and muscle growth. TR3 is an ideal supplement for trainers who have longer training sessions or sessions with a larger cardio component thanks to the large amount of carbs in the protein powder, but can also easily be used by people looking to bulk up.
