Driven Sports Craze was one of the most popular pre workout supplements in the industry and was regarded by many as the most powerful of all pre-workouts. Of course, that opinion was probably due to the unfortunate fact that Craze was found to contain methamphetamine like compounds in its formula. Since the products demise in late 2013, there has been very, very little movement from the Driven Sports camp; that is until now. Driven Sports are said to be releasing a new range of three supplements including another concentrated pre-workout known as Frenzy.
- New concentrated pre-workout from the makers of Craze
- Combination of brand new stimulants, nootropics, pump enhancers and endurance support compounds.
- Genuine replacement for DMAA-based pre workout supplements.
Driven Sports Frenzy Ingredients & Dosage
The Frenzy apple did not fall too far from the Craze tree. The basic ingredients remain largely unchanged and include:
- Creatine for strength
- Taurine for muscle volumisation
- L-citrulline for pump
- L-Carnitine L-Tartrate for pump, recovery, and energy metabolism
Although some of the stimulants and nootropics used are nothing special, with typical inclusions such as as caffeine. Tangerine extract is now also included, which is an ingredient previously seen once before in Gaspari Detonate. The newest and most noteworthy addition though, is 4-methyl-2-pentanamine citrate. Those in the know would immediately recognise the chemical structure of this compound and see that it is extremely similar to the now infamous DMAA. All these ingredeints add up to a total or 4.9 g.
The new pre-workout will have a similar serving size as the original, but may be consumed at a maximum of 2 scoops.
Driven Sports Frenzy Pros & Effectiveness
Right off the bat, we will admit that Frenzy feels nothing like Craze. However, it does not disappoint at all. The amount of energy it provides can only be described as intense and many users describe the experience as "aggressive". If you enjoy the feeling of a good buzz and what feels fairly similar to the original Jack3d and Mesomorph, then Frenzy has to be the product for you. If you have been crying out for a DMAA replacement, then this is probably as close as you can come. This makes Frenzy a product that we would really only recommend for advanced trainers.
Driven Sports Frenzy Cons
Frenzy is clearly an energy-based pre workout. If you live for the pump and enjoy a well rounded pre workout, we would have to admit that Frenzy will leave you a bit flat. This should not be surprising given its relatively small dose of active ingredients such as citrulline, which requires many grams to be effective. However, you certainly do not need a high dose of stimulants for the product to be effective, and that is exactly the path Frenzy has taken.
Driven Sports Frenzy Taste & Mixability
Currently Frenzy is available in fruit punch and orange cream, an interesting deviation from the Craze flavours that were adored by fans. Mixability of Frenzy is excellent and the taste is not too bad either. To be honest, you won't be fooled into thinking it is a natural fruit juice, but it is by no means "pinch your nose" offensive.
Driven Sports Frenzy Verdict
A strong name, a good formula and results are what makes a good supplement. Driven Sports already has the first part down pat and they know how to make products that give results. There’s a lot of trainers out there waiting with bated breath for this product and hoping that it can emulate the power and effectiveness of Craze, which puts a lot of pressure on a company. However, we are happy to confirm that Frenzy as risen to the challenge. Ladies and gentlemen, this is going to be a hot one!
