Syntha 6 has long been one of BSNs signature supplements. With its iconic red packaging and plentiful and delicious flavour choices, Syntha-6 is one of the most enduring and popular protein powders on the market. To maintain an edge over their competition, BSN have decided to release a different version of their flagship product, which will be known fittingly as BSN Syntha-6 Edge.

BSN Syntha 6 Edge Highlights

  • High quality blend of 6 different proteins
  • Highly bioavailable and easy to digest
  • Sustained release of protein to maintain lean muscle growth and recovery
  • Lower in carbs and fats than the original
  • Ultra creamy, delicious taste

BSN Syntha 6 Edge Review & Ingredients

Syntha 6 Edge is extremely similar to the original with only a couple of significant changes. This includes the removal of some proteins sources along with MCTs (medium chain triglycerides). Syntha 6 Edge provides its protein through:

  • Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC)
  • Whey Protein Isolate (WPI)
  • Whey Protein Isolate Hydrolysate (WPH)
  • Milk Protein
  • Micellar Casein
  • Milk Protein Concentrate

All other ingredients are either for flavouring or mixability purposes. Each 38g serve of Syntha 6 edge comes with 24g of protein, 3.5g of fat and 6g of carbs. The powder is available in two different sizes of 980g and 1.8kg.

BSN Syntha 6 Edge Benefits, Pros & Effectiveness

BSN Syntha 6 Edge is still an excellent sustained release protein that provides a trickling of amino acids to your muscles to maintain lean muscle growth and recovery over a longer period of time. This makes is perfect for those who tend to leave a longer period between their meals. The sources of protein are all high quality and highly bioavailable making them perfect before or after your workouts as well as throughout the day. The slight amount of carbs and fats will also help support recovery and can help with satiety.

BSN Syntha 6 Edge Negatives & Cons

There aren’t any huge cons to Syntha 6 Edge. The protein percentage is a little bit lower than what you would expect from a blended protein, but is in line with the original Syntha 6. As a protein, it’s best to use during the day, but may be a bit too fast absorbing to use as a night time or before bed protein. Other than that though, Syntha-6 Edge is a price competitive multi protein blend that will help your muscles sustain growth throughout the day.

BSN Syntha 6 Edge Flavours, Taste & Mixability

Syntha 6 Edge currently comes in four flavours including Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla and Cookies & Cream. It mixes extremely well into a smoother shake than the original, which already mixed into a creamy milkshake like consistency. The Syntha 6 Edge is creamy without being too indulgent and tastes like a frothy milkshake, especially when mixed with milk. It has a perfect amount of sweetness and is so easy to drink, you’ll be wanting to have a serve at least a couple of times a day. Definitely one of the highlights of this new protein.

BSN Syntha 6 Edge Verdict

BSN’s new Syntha 6 Edge ticks pretty much all the boxes when it comes to a blended protein. High quality protein sources, highly bioavailable, delicious taste and easy mixability and price competitive. If you’re after an everyday protein powder to either act as a meal replacement of simply as a protein and amino acid top up shake, then you really can’t go wrong with the Syntha 6 Edge. As the leaner version of the Syntha 6, it’s ideal for those who are focused on getting enough protein without too much of the unnecessary carbs and fats.
