BCAAs are comprised of three essential amino acids, L-leucine, L-isoleucine and L-valine. They are essential for building and maintaining muscles, and work by facilitating the synthesis of proteins in the body. They account for about 1/3 of muscle protein, and can be used directly by the muscles for energy. BCAAs are needed during times of physical stress, so are often used as bodybuilding and athletic supplements.
Preliminary evidence suggests that BCAA supplementation prior to exercise may help prevent muscle protein breakdown and improve recovery time after strenuous workouts. Most studies suggest the need for a high L-leucine content as this is the predominant amino broken down during bouts of intense exercise. The Gen-Tec BCAA ratios are 70% leucine, 15% isoleucine and 15% valine. The highest leucine content on the market.

Mix 3g (1teaspoon) in water or non-acidic juice before exercise.
