With so many supplement companies having made big moves in 2014 in terms of release of new products and reformulations of old products, it was strange to see a big company such as Cellucor stay so quiet. With immensely popular and well received products such as COR-Performance Whey and their flagship product C4 Extreme, it was a wonder Cellucor weren’t releasing. However, we now know that this was because they were busy creating brand new variations of their C4 Extreme. One of these variations has been dropped and is known as Cellucor C4 Sport.
Cellucor C4 Sport Highlights
- Designed especially for competitive athletes (subject to testing)
- Free of WADA banned substances
- Added electrolytes to support hydration and endurance performance
- Similar formula of original Cellucor C4 with same great taste
Cellucor C4 Sport Ingredients & Dosage
Cellucor C4 Sport is exactly what we originally suspected; it is a pre workout specifically geared and designed for the competitive sporting athlete. As such, it is quality assured and free of banned substances that athletes are not allowed to use. This includes one of the ingredients in the original version which is bitter orange extract (synephrine). Instead the new C4 Sport contains two blends of ingredients including:
- C4 Sport Performance Blend (5.71g) – Micronised Creatine Monohydrate, Beta Alanine, Arginine AKG, DiPotassium Phosphate, DiSodium Phosphate and Magnesium Chloride
- C4 Sport Energy Blend (1.15g) – Taurine, Caffeine Anhydrous, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate and Methylcobalamin (Vitamin B12).
Cellucor C4 Sport is confirmed to come in a 30 serving (285g) tub, but most likely will also come in a 60 serving version like the original. C4 Sport’s serving size has almost doubled and is now at 9.5g.
Cellucor C4 Sport Pros & Effectiveness
It takes a company with foresight to start producing a range of supplements that are ideal for competitive trainers and athletes. But the C4 Sport is not just designed for those people only. Anyone whose job requires regular blood tests such as mining and positions in government can rest easy knowing that with C4 Sport, they’re getting the pre workout energy they need without having to worry about false positives and being at risk of banned ingredients.
The new Cellucor C4 Sport should provide trainers who participate in more endurance style training a boost with added electrolytes, a bit of caffeine as well as other energy support ingredients and a few buffering agents. The new Cellucor C4 Sport should provide first time users and those in competition a good energy boost to help them train and compete better.
Cellucor C4 Sport Cons
To be completely frank, Cellucor C4 Sport is a bit tamer than the original. For a supplement that is designed for sport, it’s surprising that Cellucor didn’t choose to have the entire formulation transparent. As such, it’s hard to tell how much of each of the active ingredients there are except for the electrolytes and the B Vitamins. Due to the lack of Synephrine (Bitter Orange Extract or Citrus Aurantium), it’s most likely that C4 Sport may not give the same amount of energy as the original.
Cellucor C4 Sport Flavours, Taste & Mixability
Cellucor C4 Sport is to be initially available in Fruit Punch, but will quickly be released in other popular flavours of the original version such as Pink Lemonade, Lemon Lime and Pineapple just to name a few. As per usual, C4 Sport tastes pretty much exactly like the original and mixes just as well also.
Cellucor C4 Sport Verdict
Cellucor have spent the greater part of 2014 deciding to split their flagship product into a full range of three or four other supplements. One of these products is the Cellucor C4 Sport, which is a banned substance free pre workout supplement. It should provide users with a similar experience to the original and is ideal for first time users of supplements with stimulants or anyone who participates in regular sporting competitions.
